FRANCES (FRANCIE) PENNY, PhD, RN, MPH, MSN, IBCLC
Frances (Francie) Penny is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing in the School of Health and Human Services where she teaches Maternal and Child Health and is a Champion for the Breastfeeding Friendly Campus Initiative. Dr. Penny received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University and her Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, with a focus in International and Maternal and Child Health. She also received a Masters in Nursing and PhD from the University of Connecticut. Her research on breastfeeding has been published in international journals such as Journal of Human Lactation. Francie loves traveling with her family in the summer and has been married for 25 year and is the mother of three children (ages 22, 19, 16 ) all were happily breastfed.
