BRIANNA CHAPUT, BSN

Brianna graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health. Throughout her time at Southern, Brianna was provided many opportunities to work directly with communities across the state through various educational and volunteer opportunities.  She began her professional journey with the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County’s “Wi-mentor” program as the Program Coordinator.  This role provided her the opportunity to be able to work one-on-one with high school students from the under-served areas of Bridgeport, Stratford and Norwalk. From there, Brianna ventured down to Arlington, Virginia, where she received her BSN from Marymount University in May of 2014. That same year, she began work at a local health district in Connecticut where she served as the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator/Health Educator and Program Manager for the Shoreline Regional Pump-Out Boat program for three and a half years. At the health district, she was able to work with a wide variety of community members and stakeholders to ensure they were provided essential public health services. Brianna was committed to improving the health and well-being those residents through public health programs that promoted wellness, prevented and controlled disease, and provided education about healthy lifestyles. Today, Brianna serves as the Supervisor of Community Outreach for United Community and Family Services, where she oversees the “Access to Care”, Case Management and Medical Home programs. In this role, Brianna is able to aid in the agency’s mission to improve the health and well-being of the community. She considers it not only a professional mission, but a personal one, in helping to improve the conditions in which we live, learn, work, and play and the quality of our relationships will create a healthier population, society, and workforce. And as of September 2019, Brianna welcomed her first child, Greyson. This new journey has given her an entirely differently perspective into maternal and child health and wellness and she is excited to start this new chapter of her life while being a new member of the CBC Board!
