Tamara graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1984 with a degree in Nutritional Sciences. She did not begin her nutrition career, however, until 1994 when she started with the Thames Valley Council for Community Action (TVCCA) WIC program.

She has been with the TVCCA as a Nutritionist for over 17 years now and currently oversees the new peer counseling program. She has served as the agency's Breastfeeding Coordinator for over 10 years. She earned an IBCLC in 2006. She has served on local community committees over the years as a representative of the TVCCA WIC program.
